After officially confirming the cooperation yesterday, Prada and adidas have revealed brand-new information about the task. In a joint declaration shared with Highsnobiety, the 2 brands reveal they are signing up with forces for a long-lasting cooperation, with the very first joint tennis shoe dropping this December.
The project’s objective is to “investigate the realms of heritage, technology and development– and to challenge conventional knowledge through unforeseen strategies.” It will draw from both brand’s archives and specifically integrate their joint heritage in sport, from Prada’s Luna Rossa cruising equipment to adidas’ innovation in sport.
The very first release will consist of 2 limited-edition designs for males and females, which will be made in Italy by Prada. The brands also guarantee the release of new Luna Rossa cruising footwear, to be revealed in 2020.
Prada verified the unforeseen “Prada for adidas and adidas Originals” sneaker collab the other day. Posting a teaser shot to Instagram, the luxury style house revealed its link-up via an easy shot of 2 adidas sneaker boxes inside a Prada bag. The image currently hinted at a two-piece tennis shoe collab, one performance pair and one set of adidas Originals.
Now the reports of an “ adidas Prada Sailing” shoe that have actually been whispered about for the last few weeks have lastly been validated. And as Prada and adidas revealed in their joint statement, we don’t have to wait too wish for this release– “the journey starts quickly.”
As always, more information will come as we get it.
