Virgin Trips’ very first ship has actually moved one step better to its very first cruising with travelers. Last month, Scarlet Girl, the cruise line’s very first ship, effectively completed its sea trials on a sailing between Italy and France.

From Nov. 15-18, Scarlet Woman cruised from Genoa to Marseille before returning to its station in Genoa from Nov. 27-30 The return journey was the preliminary of sea trials, which it effectively completed.

Sir Richard Branson joined the sea trials sailing, in addition to his household, a number of executives at Virgin Voyages including CEO Tom McAlpin and the CEO of fellow Virgin group member Virgin Atlantic, Shari Weiss.

” I think Virgin’s heritage is truly well represented on this ship,” said Branson. “The name itself, the Scarlet Lady, was the name of Virgin Atlantic’s first two aircrafts.”

The Virgin Group chairman explored the Manor, a large club aboard the Scarlet Woman. The Manor is named after Virgin’s very first recording studio, which hosted rock legends like the Rolling Stones and Paul McCartney.

Branson said he wanted to prevent the normal stereotype of a cruise ship when creating Virgin Voyages. “If we can create the kind of cruise ship that our pals and ourselves would go on, then we ‘d go on it,” he said.

Branson painted the outline of the Virgin flag on the hull of the ship, where the cruise line’s logo will appear.

” Virgin Trips can confirm the Scarlet Woman is smooth, stable and peaceful, sliding through the water in different climate condition,” Virgin Voyages stated in a statement.

The sea trials conclusion is the next step Scarlet Lady needed to complete, putting her one step closer to her maiden trip on April 1,2020 Scarlet Girl is set to cruise from Miami to locations in the Caribbean on four- and five-night schedules.

In November, Virgin Voyages revealed its 2nd ship, the Valiant Lady. While Scarlet Girl will be committed to Caribbean cruisings, Valiant Woman will initially sail seven-night Mediterranean travel plans out of Barcelona, Spain. Sailing on the Valiant Lady is set to begin in May 2021.
